There are significant differences in performance, compatibility, and configuration between them. There are a variety of arcade emulators available in RetroPie which can emulate Neo Geo games. If you've updated to the MAME 0.202 build and your neogeo.zip is missing this file, then your Neo Geo games will fail audit and won't launch via MAME's own GUI. The MAME 0.202 build has added the US MVS (U4) bios (sp1-u4.bin) to it's Neo Geo bios requirements. It seems like it doesn't find the bios file still. I tried that but it doesn't seem to work. I downloaded a neogeo.zip bios file but i read you need a specific folder for neo games and you're supposed to put the bios file in that same folder.
